Established in Western Australia in 1941, The Federation of Western Australian Police and Community Youth centers (WA PCYC) is a notforprofit organization that creates opportunities for young people through the delivery of two broad youth services: development (intervention) programs and recreational activities. Offering young people the opportunity to participate in well and sound recreational activities has everlasting been a strong bottom of WA PCYC’s service to the community. Attendance rates divulge there is a mighty need for WA PCYC and the services we offer. WA PCYC is different to other organizations delivering youth services because of our partnership with the Western Australia Police. Police Officers work with our organization, referring young offenders and youthatrisk to our programs, which plays a meaningful role in early intervention and crime prevention. Servicing towns between Carnarvon and Brooke (and beyond), the WA PCYC changeable Mirth Truck is packed full of fun activities and equipment, including sumo suits, mini tennis, mini soccer, a basketball hoop and much. WA PCYC was formed in WA in 1941 as the Police Boys Club, with the aim during the war years to provide guidance and structure to boys to decrease crime within the community, while their fathers were away fighting for our country and mothers toiled in the munitions factories for the cause. Since those hasty days, WA PCYC has seen some changes to its name and structure to accommodate the temporary needs of young people in the community. In partnership with the WA Police and the community, a charity that develops young people through inclusive and sustainable programs and activities that contributes to a safer community. Volunteers help to decrease our ongoing staff costs, meaning we can use more of our funds directly to where they are required maximum to aid our most vulnerable and disadvantaged members. Kalgoorlie PCYC is looking for dedicated individuals who have an interest in Gymnastics to volunteer and assist with the Gymnastics program. We remain to work in line with Key Partner the Western Australian Police to deliver inclusive and sustainable programs to young people that contribute to a safer community. Through collaboration, engagement and relationship building with agencies, local government and other youth service providers we are able to deliver and notforprofit organizations is paramount to overall community security and safety. We also continue to work closely with the State Government, elected Members, local government authorities, youth justice teams and other community drivers to deliver our diversionary programs and recreational activities. We continue to form robust and cohesive active partnerships with local service providers to flourish imperative policies, procedures and strategies in order to maximize the safety of children and youth participating in recreational activities and program both within our centers and outer of our organization.
